How Can I Get Rid of Bamboo Without Going to Extremes?

I'm really frustrated with bamboo taking over my yard. I'm considering using rhizome fabric and gravel to slow it down, but I'm wondering if that's enough. Do I need to completely pave over my yard? Honestly, I don't care about having grass—I'm just determined to get rid of this invasive plant!

Just a heads up, stuff like landscape fabric, asphalt, or concrete won’t stop bamboo. It will find a way through anything! Sorry to break it to you.

Yikes, that’s not what I wanted to hear!

Digging it out might be your best bet, but it's definitely a hassle. Just make sure to get all the roots—if you leave even a small piece, it can grow back.

I heard that letting the bamboo grow fully and then cutting it down to the ground can help in the long run. It takes time, but some say it's effective.
