I live in an attic, and I recently had a rodent problem. In my inexperience, I took my friend's advice and placed mothballs in the corners and openings of my walls. Now, I'm stuck with the smell and can't seem to remove the mothballs. I'm considering getting an air purifier, but I'm looking for additional ways to neutralize the odor since I can't actually take the mothballs out. Any suggestions? Signed, a young and anxious renter.

Mothballs do shrink over time as they vaporize, but it can take a while. You could try using a filter with activated charcoal; it helps eliminate odors. Also, I've dealt with mice in my old house by using cheap spring traps baited with peanut butter, which works well! If you can, getting a cat might also help keep the rodents away. Good luck!
You might want to try using a vacuum with a hose attachment to see if you can suck up any loose mothballs. Another option could be one of those grabber tools to try and fish them out. Just be careful not to make it worse!
That's a good idea! I can totally see myself at an arcade claw game trying to grab a mothball, haha!

Thanks for the advice! I've ordered a charcoal filter and set up peanut butter traps, fingers crossed!
