I'm really struggling with thistles and weeds in my garden, especially since my neighbor's lawn is full of them. I've replaced my sod twice and tried to suffocate the weeds with new soil and grass seed at the beginning and end of the season, but nothing seems to work. I'm looking for solid tips or strategies that might actually help me get rid of these pesky weeds permanently!

You might try using white vinegar on those stubborn thistles after pulling them out. It worked wonders for me when I battled thistles for years! Just be prepared for it to be a labor of love. I spent a lot of time on it, but the results were worth it.
A great method is to use a pre-emergent herbicide. It prevents weed seeds from germinating, which can be a game-changer. I have a lawn service that does this for me, and it helps keep thistles out of my grass. I do still have to handle the garden beds, though. Pull the weeds after it rains for easier removal!
Dealing with weeds can be tough, especially when your neighbor's yard is a problem. They can send seeds your way, no doubt! I’ve had success manually pulling weeds out and replacing them with more plants instead of just grass. It keeps the weeds down while adding some nice greenery. Just a thought!

That's a solid plan! Do you happen to know what type of pre-emergent they use? Seems like a worthwhile investment.
