How Can I Grow Beans with Alkaline Water?

I've got a well and the water is really alkaline, which my beans and peppers don't seem to like. Everything else is thriving, so I'm trying to figure out how to support my beans. I was thinking of adding peat moss to help manage the pH while watering. Any suggestions?

You might want to try collecting rainwater for your beans instead. It’s a great alternative that’s usually more neutral. Just ensure you clearly identify what specific issue your water presents, as using peat moss won't really do much if your water is alkaline. Consistency is key!

If you're dealing with highly alkaline water, adding peat moss might not be the best move. Peat is slightly acidic, so mixing it with alkaline water could just confuse things. Instead, consider using aluminum sulfate to lower the pH a bit. It's important to measure your pH correctly with a meter rather than guessing!
