I'm really interested in growing black roses, but I'm aware that true black roses are quite rare. I'm not looking to dye any roses for color; instead, I'm curious if it's possible to enhance the color of existing roses or to create a hybrid with another flower that has a black color. Any tips or advice would be appreciated!

True black roses don't really exist in nature since black is actually a very dark hue of another color. If you're interested in getting as close as possible, there are some deep red or purple shades that might give you a similar aesthetic. Also, mixing different rose varieties might lead to a dark flower, but it's kind of a hit-or-miss method. It could be fun to experiment though!
You might want to check out some seed options on Amazon; they sell some hybrids that claim to offer dark options. From what I've read, the process often involves combining different red roses and just hoping for a dark outcome. I've been curious about this too, but haven't tried yet. If you do, keep us posted on how it goes!
For sure! I'll definitely keep everyone updated if I decide to give it a shot.

Yeah, I totally get that! I think using dark red roses and crossbreeding them could work, but it might take a few tries to see what comes out.
