I've been facing a huge headache with my GE washer that I bought from Home Depot. I haven't had to replace any appliances in years until now, and the whole process is so frustrating. Home Depot offers a 48-hour warranty, and from there, it's up to GE's brand warranty. Right after I set up the washer, I noticed water drops in the tub, which made it seem like it had been used. When I removed the drain hose-cap to hook it up, about half a gallon of water leaked everywhere. I tried reaching out to customer service for help but got nowhere. Fast forward two days, and now my washer is making a loud banging sound, clearly indicating it has a broken part. We've been dealing with repairs for four months now, and they're just scheduling another repair for next month. I really want to make sure I'm clear about the fact that I paid for a brand new, functioning washer and not a lemon. If anyone has tips on how to effectively approach GE or Home Depot about this, please share!

Have you been in touch with the brand warranty services? Sometimes local repair shops can also help if you haven’t already contacted them. I’d recommend reaching out to them because they might be able to expedite repairs or offer more support for your situation.
It's crucial to do your homework before buying appliances. Just a heads-up, GE appliances were top-tier for years, but after Haier bought them in 2016, things changed. They might have downgraded quality, as Haier seems to be more about the brand name than maintaining standards. It's true that great products come from China, but if a company doesn't uphold the quality that made the brand famous, you might run into trouble. Just something to keep in mind for future purchases!
I’ve had similar experiences! I always buy from local stores because they usually offer better warranties, around 60 to 90 days. When I had an issue with my microwave I bought from a local shop, they had me pick up a new one right away. Big box stores like Home Depot often only give you a 2-day warranty, which isn't great. You might want to check your local appliance stores next time.
