How Can I Hide My Laundry Area in the Living Room?

I need some ideas on how to conceal my laundry area, which includes a visible water heater, in my living room. I want to at least build a closet around the water heater, but ideally, I'd like to cover the entire space. However, there's an inconvenient heater on the wall that can't be disabled since it keeps the downstairs warm. I'm also concerned about how any screens or doors might interfere with accessing the washer and dryer and the cabinets nearby. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with options, so I'd really appreciate any suggestions you might have!

Consider using a large curtain. If you've got the room, it's an easy solution that allows for flexibility. Just slide it to the side when you need to access the washer and dryer. Plus, you can find some great designs to match your decor!

If the focus is hiding the hot water tank, maybe consider removing the cabinet above it. You could then put in a tall cabinet that goes all the way to the ceiling with doors, so it's accessible in the future when you need to replace the tank. Adding a countertop above the washer and dryer could also be super useful for folding clothes!
