I'm in a tough spot here. My mom arranged for split systems to be installed in all three of my bedrooms, and while I already have one in the master, she didn't consult me on how they installed the drainage for the bathroom. I came home to find this huge pipe running above my toilet, and it totally ruins the space. I wish I had a chance to weigh in before they put it in! My friend, who usually helps with repairs, said we can't move it without causing drainage issues. I intended to fix this place up and sell it eventually, but right now I just need to figure out how to hide this mess in the bathroom. Any suggestions to make it less noticeable, please? Here's a link to a photo: https://imgur.com/a/JZPxDkg. Note that in the second picture, you can see how it looks while sitting on the toilet, which is very frustrating. Help me out here!

It’s probably too late to consider this, but years ago we had a ducted mini-split installed in our attic, which worked out perfectly because it only had one drainage line for the entire upper floor with vents in the ceiling. If you’re looking for a way out for your situation, maybe this could be something you explore for future projects!
Honestly, I don’t think it looks that bad at all! Consider adding some artwork or a colorful mural on the wall to distract from it.
I appreciate the thought, but I’m trying to keep everything in the house very simple and white. I don't think a mural would fit the vibe I'm going for, to be honest. I want to highlight other elements like the original floors instead.
Was this installation done recently? If it was, you might want to contact the installers and ask them to move it. It’s really not common to have something like that over a doorframe; they should have built a soffit or something similar. You could install a barn door if it wasn't too low, but since it is, maybe some decorative shelving could help mask it? Good luck!
Yes, it was installed today. I reached out to them for a solution, but since my mom approved it while they were there, I probably have to deal with the cost myself. I'd have rather they left a hole to put it in the wall, honestly.

I wish that option had been discussed! This whole install cost $8.5k, so I’m hesitant to think about changing things now.
