I'm 29 years old and I'm struggling with painting my son's new room. I just applied the first coat using some cheap Dollar General microfiber rollers and Valspar Satin paint, but it looks really uneven. The walls are slanted and there are a lot of edges to deal with, making it look messy. I tried using an edge sponge, but the edges came out too thick compared to the lighter middle areas. I'm feeling a bit stressed about this and need some advice. Will adding a second coat help even things out, or should I do something else first?

Did you prep the walls before painting? It’s super important to clean the surface and consider a primer if the original color was bold. Usually, you'll need two coats to get a good finish, so don’t fret too much! There are loads of great tips online to help you prep properly and make your paint job look fantastic.
Definitely go for a second coat! It makes all the difference. Just keep in mind that edges generally look thicker because of how edgers apply paint. Clean up any drips while they’re still wet, and you might want to invest in some better quality rollers for a smoother finish.
Hey, don't stress! First coats often look rough. Just make sure to let it dry fully before applying the second coat. If you’re finding the roller isn't applying enough paint, that could explain the uneven texture. Stick with it and try a second coat. Things are likely to improve significantly!
