I've been browsing this subreddit, and I'm really impressed by everything people create. I feel like my boyfriend, who loves artsy stuff and has a knack for making things that match his retro and renaissance-inspired style, would totally enjoy woodworking. He also has a massive collection of books and VHS tapes that I'd love for him to showcase in our new apartment. Does anyone have suggestions or experiences that helped them get into woodworking? What might inspire him to give it a shot?

You could suggest starting with small, fun projects like birdhouses or simple DIY items. Doing these together could spark his interest further! He'll need some tools and a workspace, but it could be a really enjoyable hobby for you both.

That sounds like a great idea! I love the thought of working on projects together; it’ll be a fun challenge for us. Plus, I work at Michael’s, so I can get discounts on supplies. He has a garage, and his parents might have tools we can use. Maybe I can ask my grandma too!
