How Can I Join Two Polycarbonate Sheets for My Casement Windows?

Hey everyone! I'm struggling to keep cool in my apartment because my landlord refuses to turn on the AC. I have these huge casement windows (25 inches by 43 inches), which makes it impossible to use a standard window AC or even a portable one without creating an elaborate panel for the window. The hardware stores have polycarbonate sheets, but their sizes are awkward—either too big to transport or too narrow to fit my windows. So, I'm wondering, is there a way to join two polycarbonate sheets together? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Joining two polycarbonate sheets can definitely be tricky! You might consider using MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) for solvent welding, which is effective for both polycarbonate and acrylic. However, instead of trying to join them, why not build a wooden frame around a 24" sheet? This way, you can extend it to fit your window without any major modifications, and it’ll hold up better against the wind. Just make sure you've got permission from your landlord! If you're not comfortable with carpentry, a handy friend might help out.

I really can't do any drilling or framing since it's a rental. I'm kind of stuck here with this weird window size!
