I've noticed that cats are using my flower beds pretty much as their personal toilet, and it's becoming quite a problem. I'm looking for effective methods that people have tried to deter these cats from frequenting my garden. Any tips or solutions that have worked for you?

If you're really frustrated, I've heard of people building a high fence with electric wiring at the top to keep cats out. It sounds a bit extreme, but if you're really struggling with them digging in your garden, it might be worth considering.
Some folks have had success using cayenne pepper or laying down mothballs. Just sprinkle them around your flowers, and it seems to keep cats away! But do note that the cayenne needs to be reapplied after rain or over time.
One effective method is to use bird netting over your plants. Cats dislike stepping on it, and it won’t harm them. It's pretty low-tech but works like a charm!

I haven't heard of using mothballs before. Do they really work?
