I've been trying to figure out how to stop human thieves from taking my tomatoes instead of just worrying about insects. I'm considering spraying bitters on them to deter anyone from snatching them. My question is, will the tomatoes actually soak up the bitters, or will it just sit on the surface until someone washes it off? Am I overthinking this?

Don’t forget the classic trick of putting up signs! Sometimes a little warning can go a long way.
Just something to keep in mind – any human pests can wash off bitters just like you would. So they might not be as deterred as you hope!
You might want to explore some other options too! A motion sensor spray hose could be a fun way to scare off any unwanted visitors. Plus, it’s automated, so you won't have to keep an eye on your plants all the time!
Ooh! That's makes WAY more sense ?

So I AM thinking too hard ?
