I'm really struggling with mosquito bites since I have an allergy to them. I just got a pool installed and I'm planning some yard work and renovations. I'm looking for advice on how to keep mosquitoes at bay so I won't be overwhelmed by them. Any tips on plants to use, or will candles and tiki torches do the trick? I'm open to anything that can help me enjoy my yard without becoming a mosquito magnet!

Long clothes work wonders for me! I got bitten all over when I was out in shorts. Switching to light, long-sleeve shirts and pants made a big difference. You can also make a DIY mosquito repellent with witch hazel and eucalyptus oil for extra protection when you're outside.
For real prevention, I recommend using Mosquito Dunks or Bits. They’re safe for humans and pets, and they can cut down larvae by up to 100% in about two weeks. Plus, they're much cheaper than pest control services you might find! And to keep the bugs off you when you're outside, consider setting up a zapper properly. Keep it around 4 feet high for the best results!
You should definitely check out the "mosquito bucket of doom." It's a clever way to lure them in and reduce their population. I've set up a few around my place, and it's made a noticeable difference in reducing mosquitoes. It’s not harmful to pets, so it’s a win-win!
I can confirm, this method really works! I noticed way fewer mosquitoes after using it. Plus, it’s eco-friendly since it targets just the larvae.

That sounds like a great mix! I’ll have to try it out since store-bought sprays sometimes irritate my skin.
