How Can I Keep My Cat Off My Solar Panels?

I've got some 500w monocrystalline solar panels installed on my woodshed, but there's a local Maine Coon that loves to roam around on them. With about 4kw running through those wires and her being quite hefty, I'm worried this could lead to a dangerous situation. Has anyone found successful ways to deter cats from lounging on warm solar panels?

Tilting the panels can help, but honestly, the best bet might be just to wait until they get really hot. Cats usually don’t like super hot surfaces!

You might want to set up some barriers around your building to prevent her from climbing up. Something like wire on L-shaped brackets could make it tricky for her to get on the panels.

That's a solid suggestion! Though I worry it might not work since she could come from above—my woodshed is built into a hillside and there are some ledges above.

Using a wire fence around the panels is a smart idea! If she’s still persistent, consider getting a hot wire setup from places like Tractor Supply. It should definitely grab her attention!
