How Can I Keep My Cats Away from My Plants?

Asked By CleverPineapple42 On

I recently moved into a small apartment with my boyfriend, and he brought his cats along. They won't stop munching on my plants no matter what I do! I've tried moving the plants high up, spraying citrus and vinegar, and covering the small ones with containers, but nothing seems to work, and now they're suffering from lack of light. This situation is making me feel really frustrated and even a bit negative toward the cats. I just need some effective solutions!

You could try sticking plastic forks tines-up in the soil, or using foil to cover the soil too! Cats generally hate the texture and it could deter them from trying to dig around.

Distracting them is key! Grow some cat grass away from your plants; it might shift their focus onto something tasty. Cats love oats or wheat grass, and it could help them leave your plants alone in the long run. Plus, it gives them a healthy outlet for their cravings!

A grow tent didn’t work for me either; my cats have found a way to break in! You might want to try hiding your plants within an enclosed space, but who knows, they'll probably get creative anyway! It’s a bit of a losing battle with mischievous felines. ?
