How can I keep my freshly picked green beans fresh until I have enough to can?

I've started harvesting my green beans as some are fully ripe, but I still need to wait for more to grow before I can can them. What's the best method to keep my freshly picked beans fresh for a week or two until I have enough to work with?

I’ve had good luck storing my beans in the vegetable crisper of the fridge. They stay fresh for several days, and by the time I have enough for a meal, they're still in great shape!

Try putting your beans in a Tupperware container with a slightly damp paper towel. This creates a humid environment and keeps them crisper for longer. It’s worked well for me!

I’m in the same boat! I usually just eat the beans as they come in, but if you need to hold off, the fridge is your best bet. Just store them in a re-used plastic produce bag and keep them in the fridge until you have enough to can. They should stay fresh for a bit.
