How Can I Keep My House Smelling Fresh After Cooking?

I'm looking for tips on how to maintain a pleasant smell in my home, especially after I cook. While I'm sure my house doesn't smell bad, the aromas from cooking linger for far too long—sometimes more than a day! I've tried cleaning weekly (mopping, dusting, disinfecting surfaces), and I have plug-in air fresheners on every floor, but I feel like they're just masking the cooking smells instead of neutralizing them. I'm considering other options, like an aroma 360 air freshener. Any recommendations?

If you're serious about eliminating cooking odors, consider swapping your over-the-range microwave for a ducted range hood that vents outside. It worked wonders for me, especially when cooking strong-smelling foods. If that's too big of a project, try using HEPA air purifiers; they can do a great job of filtering the air!

That range hood idea is solid! I’m also stuck with a circulating microwave fan for now, but I have air purifiers in almost every room and they definitely help reduce smells.

Consider cooking outdoors when possible, especially for strong-smelling dishes like bacon or fried foods. Even just using a plug-in burner or grill outside can keep the cooking smells contained. If it's a nice day, take advantage of it!

That's a great idea! I can use my apartment complex’s grills for such meals, I should definitely start doing that.

Make sure to open your windows during and after cooking, especially if your AC is spreading the smells around. Fresh air can really make a difference! I used to think air purifiers were just a gimmick, but they actually help more than you'd think!

I get that! I live in a humid area too. Just a few minutes of airing things out can work wonders without making the humidity unbearable.
