I'm really struggling with keeping plants alive, and my husband is bringing home a lovely aloe plant that a friend's mom didn't want anymore. I've killed orchids and succulents in the past, so I need some serious advice here! Can anyone explain in simple terms how to care for this aloe so it thrives? Thanks a lot!

To keep your aloe alive, place it by a bright window where it can get plenty of light. But remember, it doesn't need much water; once a month or even less is usually enough since it’s a desert plant. Just be careful not to overwater it!
Totally agree! Just don’t drown it; too much water will kill it. Also, be cautious with sunlight—some aloes can get sunburned if they're in direct light all day. It’s best to let it bask without being scorched!
Thanks for the heads-up! I'll be sure to keep it well-lit but not right in the sun all day.

I think I had the same issue—overwatering my succulents! I'll try your tip for my new plants.
