How Can I Keep My Privacy at Night Without Losing My View?

Hey everyone! I live on the ground floor in the city and absolutely love natural light. I've got some vinyl privacy film on most of my windows, which works well, but I'm struggling with my front and back windows. I want to see out of them while still maintaining my privacy, especially at night. The problem with the mirror-type privacy films is that they only work during the day when it's brighter outside. At night, when I have my lights on, it's like I'm on display! I've heard about trick mirrors used in Airbnbs, but I can't find that material. Can I get a tint that's not super expensive (under $300 ideally)? Or do I need to look for another solution like special curtains or shades that allow me to see out without others seeing in? Since I'm renting, I want something that can be easily removed. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

Look into light filtering shades! They can block out a good chunk of visibility from the outside at night while still allowing you to enjoy the view during the day. They come in different styles and shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg!

That sounds interesting! I’ll definitely check those out. Thanks for the tip!

Have you considered using some sort of sheer curtains or shades? They can let in light while also providing some level of privacy at night. You might still be able to see out, depending on how they’re designed.

I have curtains already, but they don’t really help with privacy when it’s dark and I want to see out. I want to enjoy the view without feeling exposed!
