How Can I Keep Pests Away While a House Next Door is Being Torn Down?

I just bought a house, and right next to me, they're demolishing a vacant home to build a new one. Since I already have walls coming down inside my place, I'm planning to use boric acid in the framing before I level up to drywall. Beyond that, I'm looking for more tips to prevent pests from infesting my home. Any advice? Also, I have three cats (one is outdoor), so I hope their scent can help deter some of the critters!

Take a walk around your house and seal up any entry points. Remember, mice can squeeze through spaces as small as a dime! Look for cracks in the foundation or gaps along the siding and fill those with caulk or expanding foam. Set traps along the foundation to give them an alternative to entering your house.

Just talk politics with them. That ought to scare them off!

Don't forget about bugs alongside rodents! When my area went through a tornado, we had tons of displaced bugs coming into our home. It was overwhelming! I highly recommend hiring a pest control company to do a thorough spray; trust me, it's worth it!

It's awesome that you're focusing on the inside! Make sure to seal everything up on the outside too. Treat your yard and spray around the perimeter of your home. It's great to deal with what's inside, but stopping pests from getting in is key!

Rodents really dislike mint, so that could be a game changer for you! I spray some mint essential oil around my doors every month, and it helps. Plus, it's like a hint of hardware store vibes, haha!

I planted some mint just for that reason, too! Seems to do the trick!

Don’t forget about termite killer – it lasts up to 10 years and could save you lot of trouble down the line!
