How can I keep soil contained while my grass seed establishes itself?

I'm working on blending a patch of grass with a side area that used to be a rockery. I've cleared the rockery and plan to till both areas since the terrain is really uneven. My main worry is that the grass currently borders a path and some flower beds, and it's a few inches higher due to a slight slope. Is there something I can buy to hold the soil in place after tilling while the grass takes root? I'm looking for something affordable as I'll probably need a fair amount. Alternatively, should I just level everything out to a lower height?

It sounds like you have a tricky situation! Personally, I would suggest either leveling the area out to create a smoother transition or installing some kind of edging. I once used Ever Edge for a customer, and it worked great! It’s pretty straightforward and keeps everything in place while your grass establishes.

Thanks for the input! I’ll definitely look into Ever Edge. I’ll try to post a photo so you can see the area I’m working with.

You might find some metal garden edging effective! Check out the links to products like this one [metal edging](https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/325488715) or this heavier-duty option [here](https://www.diy.com/departments/nicoman-heavy-duty-pre-rusted-metal-garden-border-edging-5m-long-roll/5061050495517_BQ.prd). They should help contain the soil well until your grass gets rooted.
