I need some effective ways to prevent ticks from getting on me when I'm outside! I've tried doing my best to avoid pesticides due to allergies, but these little pests seem to love me. I was just outside for 20 minutes and somehow came back with six ticks! I'm pretty sure they are somehow landing on me from above since the only part touching the grass was the bottoms of my feet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Why would you be barefoot where ticks are? If I’m outdoors, like fishing, I always wear tights and tuck everything in! You might try putting a barrier of Vaseline around your ankles too. You can also make a spray with diluted natural oils like geranium or citrus, which ticks seem to hate.
Yeah, ticks are definitely becoming a bigger problem. When I know I’m going to be in long grass or brush, I wear long sleeves and pants, and I actually tape my pants to my socks to block them off. It's not super fashionable, but it works!
I forgot to cover my neck—it was such a bad idea!
Ticks are the worst! They actually use static electricity to latch onto their hosts. One trick I've heard is to use duct tape inside out around your ankles to trap them before they can crawl up. I also avoid tall grass and areas where livestock have been—it really helps. Stay safe out there!
I totally get that! I found three in my hairline and one in my armpit—yikes!
That's terrifying! I’ve never encountered a tick, but I'm curious—are you worried about Lyme disease at all?
Totally! I just have a feeling there are some in my hair right now!

I thought I was safe with sneakers and leggings, but it turns out I ended up with six close to my head!
