How Can I Keep Wasps and Hornets Away While Still Protecting Bees?

I'm new to homesteading and gardening, and I've got a question about wasps and hornets. I don't mind bees at all since they're important, but I'm really not a fan of wasps and hornets. Are there specific plants, like peppermint or basil, that can help deter these pests without affecting honeybees? I'd love to know if anyone's had experience with this or has any suggestions!

Honestly, there aren't really any plants that will effectively keep wasps and hornets away. They actually play a beneficial role by controlling pest populations in gardens, so the best advice is often just to let them be. If you leave their nests alone, they typically abandon them at the end of the season, which can prevent new ones from showing up next summer. You could also consider fake nests, but they aren't as effective as leaving an old nest in place.

Yeah, I'm aware they help with pests! I just want to keep them out of certain areas like my deck. Thanks for the info!
