How Can I Make a DIY Mousepad That Actually Works?

I received a mousepad for Christmas, but it's really disappointing. It doesn't work well at all and slides around on my desk whenever I try to use it. I'm looking for some simple DIY solutions to make a mousepad that doesn't have to look perfect; I just need something functional! Any ideas?

For a budget-friendly option, check out large format mousepads on places like Amazon or IKEA. They have tons of options that are cheap and effective. If you want to DIY, you can spray a section of your desk with a matte black primer or use a stick-on vinyl desk liner. You can even glue some craft foam together from the dollar store for a quick fix!

Oh, and don't forget to check out thrift stores! You can sometimes find old office supplies that can be repurposed into mousepads. Just get creative!

If you're up for a little more effort, you could try cutting a piece from an old PC case to use as a mousepad. Just make sure to smooth the edges and cover them with fabric, like an old t-shirt, using some spray adhesive. That way, you'd get a sturdy and unique mousepad that won't flex on softer surfaces. It's a project, but it can turn out really well!

You can definitely make a mousepad with stuff you have at home! If you want something super easy, just grab some foam or even a piece of cardboard. You can also get creative with materials like printer paper taped down or using a smooth cutting board. People have even used the inside of a pizza box! Keep it simple and use whatever feels right for you.
