I've been dealing with aphids on my plants this year. First, they targeted my cherry blossom tree, and I tried using ladybugs to tackle the problem. Now they've spread to my black lace plant, and it's getting frustrating. I also have an ant problem since they seem to be farming the aphids, which makes the issue worse. Is there any way to prevent these pesky aphids from appearing in the first place, or is it something that I just have to accept?

I wrapped fly paper around the base of my tree and brushed off the ants, which really helped. It took a while, but eventually, the ants stopped coming back. Aphids are part of the ecosystem, so if your tree can handle them, maybe just let them be. But if your plant is young and struggling, I get wanting to protect it!
Using ladybugs is definitely a popular method! They can help eat aphids, but their effectiveness can vary. Some people find them pricey and not always effective, so it might not be your only solution if you're still seeing aphids. Lots of gardeners have mixed feelings about them, honestly.
