I'm planning to install luxury vinyl planks (LVP) on a concrete slab next week, but I'm concerned about how to keep the LVP planks from sliding around. My IKEA cabinets only have plastic legs every few feet, leaving significant gaps where the planks could slip underneath. I've dealt with this issue before with my existing floating laminate floor, which always seems to move around. What prep work can I do to avoid this problem?

I recommend using an underlayment under the cabinets that matches the floor's thickness. This should help reduce drifting while still allowing the floor to float properly.
You might want to glue the short edges of each plank where they meet near the cabinets. Just use a thin bead of glue on the edges—don't glue them directly to the floor. This should help keep them from uncoupling while still allowing for some movement with changes in temperature and humidity.
It's best to install the LVP directly over the subfloor, not over any existing flooring. Just make sure to end the planks right at the cabinet feet to minimize the gaps that could allow sliding.

That sounds like a smart approach! I’ve seen it work well in other installations. Just be careful with the glue amount.
