How can I prevent my neighbor’s garden sprinkler from flooding my backyard?

Hey everyone, my neighbor has a garden right next to our fence, and whenever they water it with their sprinklers, water leaks through and creates a nasty pool in my backyard. Since my pavement doesn't drain properly, it becomes a real issue. I've already asked them if there's another way they can water their plants, but they just shut the door in my face. I'm looking for ideas on how to stop this from happening, and I'm jokingly considering taking drastic measures against their plants! Any advice?

If your neighbor's sprinklers are causing this mess, maybe think about putting in a barrier or some water-loving plants on your side. If you plant things like mint or bamboo close to the fence, they might even help absorb some of that water. Just remember, retaliating against your neighbor's garden might escalate your issues rather than solve them!

Honestly, you might want to think about this from a drainage perspective. Have you considered installing a drain or using some plants in your yard that can soak up the excess water? You could also think about putting in some stone pavers to help redirect the water away from your fence. Killing their plants is probably not the best route to go!

Right? It seems like a better idea to fix the drainage issue on your side rather than creating a plant war.

Have you thought about calling in a local code enforcement? They take drainage issues seriously, and it might push your neighbor to consider alternative watering methods. But honestly, it sounds like the bigger issue is on your side – how does your yard handle rain anyway?

Exactly! It's worth checking if your yard's drainage might need some work regardless of the neighbor's sprinklers.
