I recently replaced the gas strut on my half glass/half aluminum storm door, but it's still slamming shut. I've tightened the screw adjustment on the gas tube as much as it will go, and I've adjusted the holes meant for summer and glass doors, yet it still slams closed. It functioned okay before, but I wonder if I need to adjust the mounting points on the door or the door jamb to fix this issue.

It’s important to ensure the door closer is installed correctly. If it's attached to the front hole of the jamb bracket, it could be making your door close quickly in the last inches. For a quieter close, try adjusting it to the rear hole after holding the door open a bit with a washer. This may provide a gentler closing action.
Some doors actually need a door closer installed both at the top and bottom. Have you checked if yours requires that? Also, do you have a spring in place? The instructions might provide some useful pointers, too.
