How can I properly support a heavy fireclay sink during installation?

I'm about to get a new fireclay sink and countertop, but I've learned that this type of sink is pretty heavy and needs additional support beyond just being attached to the countertop. The supplier I'm working with will only cut the counter and attach the sink but won't handle the extra support installation. I need to figure out how to do that myself. From what I can gather in the installation manual, it mentions placing a cleat inside the cabinet for support, but I'm unsure if that's enough. Can anyone with experience chime in on how to properly support this sink?

It sounds like you're on the right track with the cleat inside the cabinet! That can definitely help bear some of the weight. Just make sure it's securely installed and can hold the sink's load. Another option is to look for additional support brackets or a sink support frame if you're concerned about it handling the weight over time. A lot of folks recommend these for heavier sinks like yours. Good luck with the installation!

Sweet, I had no idea about those brackets. I’ll definitely check them out!
