How Can I Protect a Red Carpet at an Indoor Event?

Hey everyone! I'm gearing up for an indoor music festival and I've run into a bit of a dilemma. The venue has a bright red carpet in one of the rooms, and they've made it super clear that any spills or stains could hit me with a hefty 3000 euro cleaning fee. The area is about 120 square meters and I need something that can protect the carpet for just one day. Does anyone have any suggestions for coatings or coverings that are affordable and easy to set up?

I’ve seen some events use plastic sheets taped together to cover floors. An art convention I know of does this at hotels, and the venue keeps inviting them back every year. It’s effective for keeping carpets protected, so maybe give that a shot?

That’s a great idea! A solid covering will not only protect the carpet but is probably easy to clean up afterward too.

If possible, you might just want to block off that room completely. It's small enough that it could work. If that's not an option, though, painter's drop cloths could be a good solution! They're cheap and could cover the area well.

That sounds like a scam, honestly! I mean, in a venue like that, there's bound to be a spill or two. They might even set you up for something just to get more money out of you, even if you keep the room blocked off. But it doesn't hurt to ask around or look for options!
