I built a PVC banner stand for my son's scout troop, similar to one I found on Instructables, and painted it with Rustoleum flat black spray paint. It turned out great, but after transporting it, I noticed that some of the paint rubbed off due to friction when it slid around in my car. I'm looking for ways to protect the paint job. Would applying a clear coat help?

To protect your paint, you might want to strip off the current paint, lightly sand the PVC, and then repaint with a spray paint specifically made for plastics. Brands like Krylon and Rustoleum have options that bond well with PVC, which could really help with durability.
Look for paints that are specifically formulated for PVC. Regular spray paints typically won't stand up to the plastic very well, so double-check that you used the right kind.

Yeah, using the right paint is key! I learned that the hard way. Always better to make sure before starting!
