I'm hoping to plant some tulips, but my neighborhood is overrun with deer, rabbits, squirrels, voles, and skunks. I've heard that even a 3-foot fence isn't enough to stop the deer—they've already decimated my other plants like coleus and autumn joy. I want to know if there are effective strategies to keep these animals away from my tulips without resorting to a tall fence. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Deer are notorious for munching on tulips. While some swear by repellents, they really don't provide a long-term solution unless you spray them weekly. I've had decent luck with Liquid Fence—it's pretty stinky but creates a barrier. You might also consider planting daffodils since deer usually skip those! I no longer bother with tulips because they just don't stand a chance against deer.

Daffodils are a great idea! I planted them last year and had zero issues with deer. Might just be worth a shot!
