Hey everyone! I built a workbench not too long ago, and now I've realized it's about 4 inches too short to effectively function as an outfeed table for my new table saw. I really don't want to build a new bench entirely, and there's no space for another one anyway. I'm considering adding multiple layers of OSB topped with MDF for height. Has anyone tried this? Would it be a mistake or worth the effort?

If you want to consider a more advanced option, you could build a torsion box for extra stability and height.
One thing you could do is take the table top off and build a frame with 4x2s on top of your current workbench. Just refit the top afterward. Your plan would definitely work too, but it might require more materials than you think.
Why not just add 4 inches to the legs instead? You can use wood on two sides of the joints to keep them secure. This way, you can easily adjust the height later if needed.
That sounds like a better approach for sure.
