How Can I Remove a Stuck Drill Bit from My Chuck?

Asked By UserX123! On

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting a drill bit out of the chuck on my Milwaukee M18 drill. I've been twisting the chuck, but the bit just won't budge. I'm not sure if there's something wrong with the chuck or if I'm just not doing it right. Has anyone else experienced this, and how do I fix it?

It sounds like your chuck might be stuck. A good first step is to twist the chuck a bit more—sometimes it just needs a harder twist. If that doesn't work, you might want to consider returning or servicing it. Just ensure you check the warranty policies with Home Depot!

Yeah, every tool should function properly right out of the box. If it doesn't, definitely look into getting it either serviced or exchanged.

I’ve had issues like this too! If you think it’s stuck and not broken, try pushing it in while twisting. Sometimes it just needs a bit of encouragement.

If your chuck is really stubborn, a little tap with a hammer on the jaws can help loosen it up. After that, I recommend putting some oil in to keep things running smoothly. It usually does the trick!
