I recently installed a new shower head in my apartment bathroom because the one provided kept developing pink mold no matter how hard I tried to clean it. The issue is, the wrench I'm using scratches the new shower head whenever I install or remove it. Since I have to take it off for inspections, I'm looking for a way to do this without causing damage. I've tried different types of cloth, but they slip and prevent me from getting a tight grip. I want to protect this pricey shower head while needing to switch it out a few times a year. Any advice on how to handle this without adding more scratches?

Have you considered using one of those rubber grip circles for opening jar lids? They can give you the extra grip you need without the scratch risk!
If cloth isn't doing the trick, try using rubber bands around the shower head where the wrench grips it. They provide extra friction to help you turn it without scratching.
You might want to switch to channel locks instead of the wrench you're currently using. I do this a couple of times a year to clean mine, and it works great without causing any damage.
