How can I remove cigarette smoke odor from my couch?

I recently bought a couch from an online marketplace, and I just realized that it has a strong smell of cigarette smoke. I've heard that baking soda and distilled white vinegar can help with odors, but I'm not sure if they actually work. I live in a small apartment with a dog, so using an ozone machine isn't a safe option for me. I'm willing to put in some effort to clean it, though! Any advice?

I feel you! That smoke smell can be really stubborn. If you can’t use an ozone machine, taking the couch outside for a while to air out might do some good, too. Sunlight can help reduce odors as well. And I’d also recommend trying baking soda—just sprinkle it on, let it sit for a few hours, and then vacuum it up. It might absorb some of the smell!

Great idea about the baking soda! I’ll definitely try that out.

Removing cigarette odor can be tough, but starting with an upholstery cleaner is a good idea. These cleaners are designed to treat smells embedded in fabrics, plus they can help refresh the look of your couch. Just make sure to follow the instructions properly.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll give the upholstery cleaner a shot first. Fingers crossed it helps!
