How Can I Remove Dog Urine Odor from Balcony Turf Without Using a Hose?

Hey everyone! I've got a large balcony where my two small dogs usually do their business on some turf that has drainage. One of my dogs is older and can't always make the trip downstairs to go outside. The problem is, our neighbor's patio hangs over our balcony, so I can't use a hose to clean things up without risking the water flowing onto their space. I checked, and luckily the urine doesn't drain onto their property! The turf seems to hold onto every bit of pee, and I've tried a few cleaners but haven't found anything that's really effective at tackling the odor. Got any suggestions for cleaning methods that don't involve spraying it down? Thanks!

Consider renting a carpet extractor. I've used a cleaner from Lysol on old carpets, and it worked wonders without discoloring anything. If you're careful and test a small spot first, it should do a great job on the turf too!

Oh interesting! Does this actually work on fake grass as well?

I recommend giving Nature's Miracle a shot. It's got enzymes that break down the odor-causing substances, so soaking it properly can really help. Just make sure to let it sit for a bit to do its magic!

Thanks for the tip! I actually tried that one for a while, but it didn't really seem to do the trick.

Have you thought about taking the turf to a DIY car wash? Those water sprayers can really blast away odors, plus you probably won't have to do it too frequently since the smell seems to build up over time.

That's a great idea! I might just try that out.
