I accidentally spilled some gasoline on a wooden stool that my great-grandpa made while draining a weed eater. The stool is raw wood with paint, and a few ounces soaked in. I really want to remove the gas without damaging the stool. Any tips on how I can do this? I'm quite desperate!

You could just let the gasoline evaporate since it’s mostly low molecular weight hydrocarbons. In a well-ventilated area, it might take about two weeks. Yes, there will be a thin oily layer left, but you might not need to do much. Maybe just try some soap and water to clean it up a bit. Or honestly, a little oil could actually help protect the wood!

Thanks a ton for this info! I really appreciate it.
