I borrowed some SharkBite end-cap fittings to a friend for a remodel, but they returned them after cutting off the copper pipe instead of taking the fittings off. Now I'm stuck trying to figure out how to get the fittings off. One stub is about 3/4" and I can likely use a vice to remove it, but the other two fittings are cut flush with the pipe. Any ideas on how to handle this without trashing the fittings?

You could try using a SharkBite removal tool along with a vice, which is usually helpful. Just make sure to use the correct size removal tool. It should work fine for the stub that's still a bit exposed.
You could also use an adjustable crescent wrench; it works like the removal tool and might give you a better grip on the flush fittings.
For the cut flush fittings, if you're careful, you might be able to use a small pipe cutter or a Dremel to create a little more space around the fitting, then try the removal tool again.
Honestly, your friend should just buy you new fittings for returning them like that. It's pretty frustrating when someone doesn't use borrowed tools responsibly.
What about the two that are cut really close to the pipe? Any tips for those?
