How Can I Restore a Sentimental Growth Wall After It Was Painted Over?

I'm really hoping to get some advice on restoring a beloved growth wall that holds a lot of sentimental value. We were in the middle of renovations and left for a long weekend, and while we were away, my uncle, trying to help, painted over this wall where I've marked my height and my sister's as a kid. It's super meaningful for me as it includes precious memories and her handwriting. Does anyone have tips or methods to help bring it back to life?

To help restore the wall, first, I need to know a bit more about what you're dealing with. Was it painted drywall? And what kind of paint did your uncle use? If it's a single coat of something like Behr paint, you might have a tough time getting it back to its original state. Just a heads up, but some methods can work depending on the surface.

Hey! Sorry to hear about your growth wall. If the paint is just a single coat, you could try using a paint remover that's safe for drywall. Take your time with it, and see if you can gently scrub away some of the new paint. Just be careful not to damage the wall itself! Good luck!
