Hey everyone! I have a peace lily that I inherited from a family member who passed away, and I've managed to keep it alive for years. It's a bit temperamental but somehow we've found a way to coexist. I'm thinking it could really benefit from some better nutrients in the soil, but I'm really worried about overdoing it and possibly losing this plant that's so meaningful to me. I don't want to relive the heartbreak I had with a jalapeno plant I lost. Can anyone help me figure out how to add nutrients safely without harming my peace lily?

If you're worried about burning it, you could try using a watered-down fertilizer. Maybe go with a solution that’s half or a quarter of what the packaging suggests; that way, it’s gentler on the plant.
It's usually best to hold off on fertilizing a stressed plant. If the roots aren't happy, added nutrients can actually 'burn' them because fertilizers are basically salts. I'd suggest waiting until your peace lily shows some signs of new growth before adding anything.
You might want to consider doing a soil change altogether. Fresh soil can do wonders for revitalizing plants and giving them the nutrients they need.

That makes total sense! Any tips on how to encourage it to flourish? It really does not like change, but I would love to see it grow some more leaves!
