How Can I Safely Leave My Electrical Panel Open While Joint Compound Dries?

I'm currently working on some drywall repairs around my electrical panel, and I need to leave the cover off while the joint compound dries. I can't keep the power off for an entire day without causing some household issues. Does anyone have tips on how to keep things safe during this time?

I totally get why you'd be worried. If you've got kids, it's better to be safe than sorry. You could put a barrier around the panel, like a child gate, or a sign saying 'Do Not Touch!' to keep them away while it dries.

Just leave it open. Honestly, how many people are going to mess with it? If you're worried about it, just make sure the area is well marked and avoid any children or curious pets getting too close.
