How Can I Safely Listen to Sounds in My Condo Walls?

I've been hearing some strange sounds coming from my condo walls—kinda like raindrops or tiny rocks hitting the surface. I'm not sure if it's a leak or maybe some pests. What's the best way for me to listen into the walls without having to drill holes? Would using a stethoscope work, or is there a better method I should try?

A mechanics stethoscope is a great choice for checking those sounds! You could also try pressing a glass against the wall to amplify the noise. If the sounds persist, it might be smart to reach out to maintenance or an inspector to look for any leaks or pest issues.

I saw that the mechanics stethoscope has a metal rod at the end. Do you need to drill a hole to use it, or can you just hold it up to the wall?
