Hey everyone! My partner and I just moved into a rented terraced house and we have a bunch of thick cardboard boxes that we'd like to keep for future use, especially for our monitors. Right now, we've flattened them and stored them in a mattress protector in our small garden, but I'm worried about them getting wet from humidity and rain. We don't have any room inside the house since the cupboards and wardrobes are full, and we also don't have a garage or basement. I'm concerned about pests getting into the boxes even though they're sealed. Is there a way to safely store these boxes outdoors, or are we better off recycling them and buying new ones later? Thanks for any suggestions!

Storing under a bed might work if you have space, or maybe even behind a wardrobe? Mold can be an issue outdoors with humidity, so just make sure there's airflow.
If you can seal them tightly in plastic, they might hold up for a year. Toss in some desiccant packets to absorb moisture. Storing them behind furniture could work too, but keep an eye on airflow to avoid mold.
It's tough to keep cardboard safe outside, even if you think it's protected. Have you thought about using a crawl space if your roof has access? It could be a good temporary solution if your landlord allows it.
That’s a solid idea! I’ll definitely ask about accessing the roof space next time I can reach out to them.

That’s a good thought! I’ll check if they can fit under the bed, but I already have luggage there. I might be able to stack them in a corner of one room instead.
