How Can I Safely Use Both a Refrigerator and Dryer in My Garage?

I just moved into a new house, and I've run into a bit of a problem. My kitchen doesn't have enough space for a fridge or a tumble dryer, so I'm currently using a single plug socket in the garage for my fridge. I'm wondering if there's a way to use both the refrigerator and dryer at the same time. Would it be safe to use an RCD extension cube for this setup? I can't afford to hire an electrician right now to upgrade my socket to a double.

If you do need the dryer, think about how my parents set up theirs with a dedicated outside plug. They used it for a small dryer on their patio, and it worked well without issues. Just keep it properly vented.

You gotta be careful here. Generally, both your fridge and dryer pull a lot of power, and it’s best if they have dedicated circuits. If you live in the States, your dryer likely needs a 240VAC outlet while the fridge runs on 120VAC. Mixing them can be risky, so just be cautious with that extension cube.

Honestly, I’d suggest getting a drying rack instead. I know folks in Europe seem to live without dryers and manage just fine. If you're in a bind, maybe try hanging clothes to dry, especially when you've got a tight space!
