How can I safely use my grow lights without risking a fire?

Hey everyone! I recently picked up a budget-friendly plant shelf from Amazon, which came with two sets of grow lights. Each set has four lights connected to one wire, but I've noticed that the plugs are getting really hot. The actual grow lights aren't hot, just the plugs. I'm hoping to avoid any fire hazards! Does anyone know what I can do about this? I'm looking for affordable grow lights that are safe to use and won't put my house at risk. Thanks a bunch!

Honestly, any plug that's getting hot is a red flag! It might be due to either the cheap lights being uncertified or possibly your home's wiring not supporting them. You should definitely stop using those lights until you find something safer. It's better to return them than risk a fire!

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll be returning those and checking out safer options.

It sounds like those cheap lights might not be very safe! I recommend using timers to let the lights cool down in between uses. Trust me, those inexpensive kits often lack safety certifications like UL or CE, which is a bit alarming. Try looking into Barrina grow lights; they're pretty reliable and won't set your house on fire!

Good call on the timers! And yeah, Barrina lights are definitely worth checking out.

Barrina and Sansi grow lights are some of my favorites—they're not too pricey and do the job well without overheating! You should definitely give them a look.
