I'm building a partition wall for my home office that I want to let light through instead of drywalling. I'm thinking of using door panels to keep things uniform and avoid high costs for custom glass framing. The setup will have fixed doors on the sides and French doors in the middle. However, when I calculate the width of my framing components, it totals 111", but the space is only 107" wide. Does anyone have suggestions on how to reduce the framing width by 4" without compromising my design?

What about different door sizes? If they offer 18" and 28" options, using two 18" doors for the sides and two 28" for the French doors could help you save that 4" you're looking for.
One simple way to save the 4" is to trim an inch off each stationary door panel. Most hollow core doors have enough material on the edges to allow for this modification.
Have you considered using sliding barn doors instead? They can save space and make it easier to open without taking up much room. Just a thought!
I looked into barn doors, but I need something that isolates sound better, so I might stick with the French doors.

Great idea! I have MDF doors, so I'm thinking this might work perfectly. Thanks for the suggestion!
