How Can I Save My Lawn After My Dog Ruined It?

I just had my garden landscaped, which cost a lot, but now my large dog has completely destroyed the lawn. I'm really upset every time I see it. I'm looking for help or advice from anyone who's been in a similar situation. What can I do?

When you have dogs, keeping a perfect lawn is tough. The best approach is to over-seed every year, especially in the fall, to keep it looking decent through different seasons. If your dog keeps running in the same areas and creating bare spots, consider just mulching those paths. I’ve had to do the same—my dogs created a bare spot due to their play. It’s all about balancing your love for your lawn and your furry friend!

Honestly, dogs and grass don't mix well. If you want a pristine lawn, think about creating a designated dog run with mulch or just embrace it! Walking your dog outside your yard helps too. I’ve had my challenges with my large dogs, but the love and companionship they provide make the yard issues worth it. Find what works for you and enjoy your pup!

If you're tired of grass getting wrecked, maybe consider artificial turf. It's surprising how many people expect their yard to stay intact with dogs around! Just remember, dogs naturally destroy grass. You could either adapt your landscaping for your dog or manage their play areas to save the rest.
