I'm looking for ideas on how to secure a bookshelf in my room without drilling any holes in the walls. My house has issues with leaking, so I can't drill at all. Plus, anything that goes on the floor is out of the question since I have carpet. What are my options?

You might want to try using heavy-duty command hooks, but keep in mind they have weight limits. If your bookshelf is lightweight and you’re cautious, it could work. Alternatively, consider wall anchors; they come in various sizes. Just be cautious if you're concerned about leaks—small nails shouldn't cause issues unless you hit a pipe. Just check if there are any water lines in the wall you're working on before proceeding!
Wait, did you say your house is prone to leaking? That sounds tough! If that's the case, maybe bring in some freestanding options that don’t require wall support. There are plenty of bookshelf designs that use the floor for stability instead of wall mounts, so you could explore those too!

Yeah, it’s pretty annoying. Whenever there’s rain, I just get nervous about drilling into the walls. Not worth the risk!
